Audi A4 Rear Doors Not Opening

Got an issue with my 59 plate audi a4 the passenger side door doesn t unlock using the handle on the outside it does using the internal door handle well sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn t any ideas what could be causing this or how to fix. Instead i would have to roll down the windows with the fob and open the door by reaching in and opening it from the inside. Just today i came out to the car clicked to unlock button the indicators flashed i heard the appropriate noise for unlocking but the handle won t open the door.
